Javier joins Moira Capital Partner as Investment Director contributing more than 10 years of professional experience in investment banking, corporate development and investor relations.

Prior to joining MCP, Javier was the Head of Investor Relations and Corporate Development of AJE Group, the 4th largest producer of carbonated soft drinks in the world in sales volume with operations in more than 25 emerging markets and revenues of +US$1bn. During his tenure, he was responsible for the origination and execution of a liability management strategy which resulted in a split of the Group into a GoodCo-BadCo vehicle. As a consequence, the price of the US$450mm senior unsecured bond of the Company increased from 30 cts to 90 cts. He also led the execution of a multi-currency 4-year senior secured syndicated loan of US$88mm under New York Law (Peru, Central America, Colombia, Ecuador, Mexico, Spain).  As he managed the relationship of the banking pool globally, bondholders, financial and legal advisors, rating agencies and M&A transactions, Javier developed an extensive international network.

He started his career in investment banking in the Mergers and Acquisitions Department of JPMorgan in their Madrid offices, where he advised Cemex in the divestiture process of its operations in the Canary Islands and Associated British Foods in the acquisition of Azucarera Ebro.

In 2009, he joined Optima Corporate, one of the leading independent M&A advisors in Spain.  As a Vice President, he advised an ample variety of clients comprising international and local private equity firms, such as CVC Capital Partners in the acquisition of Deoleo or Mercapital and Artá Capital in the acquisition of Panaderías Navarras, local mid-caps such as Comess Group in its debt refinancing, international listed companies such as Holmen AB in its divestiture process of its operations in Spain and Management Teams in the implementation of cross-border expansion plans.

Previously, Javier had worked in Boston Consulting Group in Monterrey (Mexico) and Alpha Corporate (Deloitte) in Madrid.

Javier holds a degree in Business Administration from ICADE and Goizueta Business School (Emory University). His ample emerging markets experience and understanding of family owned companies coupled with a solid financial background provides Javier a unique skillset to partner up with management teams
