Javier Loizaga
Chairman
One of the most respected private equity executives in Spain, with over 25 years of experience, most of them as the Chairman of Mercapital.
The leading private equity firm in Spain, Mercapital was also the only one present throughout Latin America. In its 27 years of history it invested in 115 companies (62 platforms and 53 add-ons), and played a key active role in their growth and development. During his career, Javier has also been Chairman of EVCA (European Private Equity & Venture Capital Association) and ASCRI (Spanish Venture Capital & Private Equity Association).
From 2010 to 2013, Javier moved to São Paulo to head Mercapital’s expansion in Brazil, Mexico and Colombia. He subsequently moved to Sydney, Australia, to take part in the restructuring of Leighton, a construction and mining conglomerate under the control of ACS, the world’s largest infrastructure and licensing group.
Javier holds an MSc in Civil Engineering (Ingeniero de Caminos, Canales y Puertos) from Universidad Politécnica de Madrid and an MBA from INSEAD.

Sebastián Cerezo
Partner
Co-founder of independent M&A advisory firm 360 Corporate, Sebastián participated in some of the largest private equity and energy market transactions in the 2002-2010 period. He boasts 20 years of work experience, encompassing a 10-year tenure in investment banking and ten years as the CEO of several companies.
In 2010, he moved to the Canary Islands to join Fred. Olsen, the leading fast ferry carrier in the islands, as CEO, where he completed a major restructuring of the company.
He then moved on to run Oneworld Packaging, a start-up venture manufacturing sustainable packaging. Sebastián started his career at Citi in 2000.
Sebastián holds a Degree in both Law and Business Administration from ICADE, and an MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business, where he graduated with High Honours.

Javier Elosua
Director
Javier brings to Moira Capital Partners over 10 years of professional experience in investment banking, corporate development and investor relations.
Before joining Moira, he was Head of Investor Relations and Corporate Development at AJE.
Javier began his investment banking career at the M&A Department of JPMorgan in Madrid, where he advised Cemex in the divestment of their operations in the Canary Islands and Associated British Foods in the acquisition of Azucarera Ebro.
In 2009, he joined Optima Corporate, one of the leading independent M&A advisory firms in Spain. As Vice President, he advised a wide range of clients, including national and international private equity firms.
Previously, Javier held positions at Boston Consulting Group in Monterrey (Mexico) and Alpha Corporate (Deloitte) in Madrid.
Javier graduated in Business Administration from ICADE and Goizueta Business School (Emory University). His extensive experience in emerging markets, a deep knowledge of family offices and a solid financial training provides Javier with a unique set of skills to liaise with management teams.

Juan Cambeses
Director
Juan has over 16 years of professional experience both in private equity and in M&A advisory; having actively participated, either as an advisor or as an investor, in numerous deals, with companies from different sectors such as: technology, healthcare/biotech, energy, services, food or engineering, among others.
Before joining MCP, Juan was an investment director at Baring Private Equity Partners, where he led several corporate transactions, secondary deals, as well as the restructuring and sale of a number of portfolio companies.
Previously, Juan was part of Impulsa Capital, an M&A boutique created by former JPMorgan investment bankers, where was involved in multiple transactions and in private equity fundraisings. He also worked at one of the investment vehicles of Inveravante, a Family Office in A Coruña.
He began his career within the Financial Advisory division of Deloitte, advising on M&A processes and carrying out valuations and financial modelling.
Juan holds a degree in Economics from the University of A Coruña and an Executive MBA from ICADE.

Raúl López
Director
Raúl has over 14 years of professional experience both in private equity and in transaction and other corporate processes advisory.
Before joining Moira, Raúl was an investment director at Baring Private Equity Partners, where he had a key role in both the execution of new investments and the management of various portfolio-related processes, including inorganic or strategic development projects, financial and organizational restructurings, secondary transactions and sale of companies.
Raúl began his career in the Financial Advisory division of Deloitte, advising on multiple projects in the areas of restructuring services, valuation, financial due diligence and business modelling.
Over the years, Raúl has worked with companies in a wide variety of sectors, including engineering, renewable energy, services, healthcare, IT or food and beverage, among others.
Raúl holds a dual degree in Business Administration and Law from Universidad Carlos III de Madrid. He also holds an International MBA from IE Business School, where he graduated with honors.

Gerard García
Analyst
Gerard has experience in both Investment Banking and Private Equity/Venture Capital sectors. After finalizing the MSc in Finance at ESADE Business School, he interned at Barclays Investment Bank DCM-SSA’s team in London. Subsequently, Gerard interned at Nauta Capital, a Venture Capital fund specialised in SaaS B2B companies. Prior to joining Moira Capital Partners, Gerard was part of Crédit Agricole’s GIB team based in Madrid.
Gerard holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and an MSc in Finance from ESADE Business School. During all his academic education and great part of his professional career, he played at the field hockey’s top Spanish league, as well as in the junior Spanish National team.
